DARK REDEMPTION RPG VIOLATION SYSTEM

Dark Redemption RPG incorporates a Violation System. What this means is that if a player breaks a rule they will receive a strike based upon the Violation committed. However depending on the number of Violations against the player the following action will be taken.

First Violation - Warning: The violation will be made known to the player and only a warning will be issued.

Second Violation - Discussion/Alter Action: The violation will be known to the player so that the player understands what they have done wrong and only a change in the player's action is required.

Third Violation - Lockout: The player will not be allowed to play in the chat or on the forum with any of their characters for up to one week. Although they will still be able to use our OOC Chat.

4th Violation(Final Violation) - Removal: The player and their characters will be removed from the the game and they will be asked not to return.

Note: Keep in mind that when a violation is committed the player will be contacted privately. However the GMs reserve the right to remove any member without notice for any disrespectful conduct.

DARK REDEMPTION RPG RULES AND REGULATIONS

Note: The rules stated herein are to be followed by all members. Although keep in mind that the rules could be changed at any time. It is the responsibility of the members to read, understand, follow, and keep themselves up to date to the rules of the game.

1. Drama

Dark Redemption RPG as a whole is intended to be a drama free zone. This includes posting emotionally charged statuses, slandering any members, issues associated with other games. Please be respectful and agree to disagree as we understand that people have their ups and downs. However if any member has a problem or an issue with another member and things start to get out of hand, they are to contact any GM directly so that it can be resolved. If an issue cannot resolve by a GM they will contact a RPG Moderator and they will be brought in to help resolve the situation.

Note: Harassment and or real life threats toward any member is grounds for an automatic ban and removal from the game.

2. Sexual Content and Drug Usage

Players may engage in sexual content or drug use in the chat. However sexual content must be watered down to a degree and should only be taken into PM if it should go into explicit detail. Please keep in mind that you respect and know the limits of the other player and unless they have given consent do not force anything upon them. Also rape may not be depicted on the forum, however if it is part of the character's background it may be mentioned briefly.

Note: Sexual Content and Drug Use may not be present anywhere on the forum.

3. God Modding

It is a term used to describe when one player's character does not allow another players character to react during RP or when your own character is overly powered. We would like to make RP as realistic as possible even within an unrealistic setting. Please play and react accordingly and in the event that a GM sees you engage in an act of god modding, they will contact you privately to inform you of your actions.

4. Player Knowledge and Character Separation

A crucially important distinction to keep in mind is that you the player will frequently acquire knowledge your character could not possibly know. When you learn important information about another character, make a mental note: How did you learn it? Was it through OOC means or did your character find a clue through them? Do your best to play your character as if they only know what they have actually experienced through play. Otherwise, it will not make sense to everyone involved.

However it isn't just knowledge that needs to be kept separate it is also important to keep your emotions separate from your character's emotions. For example if a character is mean to your character it does not mean that the player of the character is being mean to you, they are simply playing their character as they are intended to be played.

Keep in mind that while you are IC you are the character and not the player. This means that you as the player must keep knowledge that you gained through OOC means from influencing the IC actions of your character.

5. Avatars

In order to keep the forum running smoothly Avatars must be of either jpeg or png format. Pornographic images are prohibited from being used as an Avatar. Face Claims are also allowed for characters however they are on a first come first serve basis.

6. Eupheim Police Department

The EPD are stationed throughout all of Eupheim. However they tend not to venture into Dranisia Forest near Lautari encampments. An EPD officer is rarely seen without a partner and they are highly skilled, although due to their advanced training they are capable of combating hostile Supernaturals using their weaknesses.

Although they will still arrest anyone who commits a crime. However the citizens will often endanger themselves by putting themselves in harms way, sometimes they are caught in the crossfire. As some of the EPD are not trained to keep peoples rights or the laws into account when out on patrol.

Note: EPD Officers are generally for NPC play or for a GM to play. But may be played by an actual player upon approval by a GM.

7. Prison

Any laws broken in Eupheim they shall be punished by the severity of the law broken. What this means is if they rob a bank, pick a fight, commit murder, cause severe injury, destruction of establishment or personal property, you best be willing to take the consequences. You will be arrested by an EPD officer and must spend time in prison. Any weapons or vehicles used by your character will be taken from them and held until they have served their sentence.

The time frame will not be like where you have to spend months or years in a prisoner cell. Maybe you will be in prison for a week or depending upon the law broke a few weeks. Other characters are allowed to bring you food and interact with your character while visiting you in prison. While your character is in prison or your visitors are visiting you any supernatural abilities that your character may have will be rendered useless. This is explained by the dampening runes which are scattered throughout the prison even making escape useless.

If you cannot handle your punishment from what your character chose to do your playing in Redemption RPG will be halted. This is to ensure that we all get along and to cut down on the chaos of characters wanting to cause their own 'wars'. Unless it is stated otherwise for a storyline.

Note: This is not to be abused by any GM or player.

8. Factions

Factions are acceptable as long as they do not revolve around a family. In order for a Faction to be formed there must be a Leader and Co-Leader(determined by the Leader), as well as a minimum of four members. Another thing to keep in mind is that the Factions must also have a certain type of housing for their members. Which can be used to either allow their members to live in or gather for meetings.

In order for a Faction to be recognized both Leader and Co-Leader and any four members(players) must be present in the chat listing for two GMs to recognize the Faction.

Keep in mind that most Factions do not have tags associated with them and even if they do the tags are usually part of their name in the chat or stated upon their character profile.

Note: We ask that players do not use Faction names from other games. Unless expressed permission has been given by the rightful owner. Also be sure to check the Factions section on the forum for all available Factions within the game.

9. Families

Families can only be formed if there are two active members and at least one or three  children(bloodline or adopted) or a mixture of children and a single pet. Keep in mind that families must also have a certain type of housing, for them to live within and depending on the type of housing is how many children or pets that they can have. Though in order for the family to be recognized by an Admin all active members must be in the chatroom.

10. Pregnancies and Births

If two parents wish to have children they will need to be rolled using the in game dice. However these rolls must be overseen by an Admin to confirm. In order for child growth during pregnancy the mother will need to carry the child/children up to a maximum, of one month unless the player wishes to carry them the full term is entirely up to them. After the child/children are born they age up to one year every three weeks and can only be played as an NPC, until they reach the age of 18 at which point they can become an optional playable character. Three children is the maximum limit to be born at a time and they cannot be killed, Female characters who are pregnant cannot be challenged to a death match.

Note: Angels and Cyborgs cannot have children. However children can be created for Cyborgs based on gender, also Fallen Angels can have children. All Pregnancies or Births will need to be posted on the Pregnancies and Births on the forum. Also be sure to check the System section for more information on how the dice work for Pregnancies within the game.

11. Marriage and Divorce

A marriage can only be sanctioned by a GM or any player appointed by a GM who are able to temporarily play as a priest or priestess. Keep in mind that marriages can coincide with any race though certain racial unions cannot produce offspring. The marriage between two slaves are not allowed on their own unless both are freed by their master or mistress though slaves are most commonly married to them.

In order to apply for a marriage there is a two month waiting period. Also the engagement of the two characters must be listed on the forum for at least two weeks before the start of the two month period, after the two month waiting period is over the marriage may commence. Keep in mind that at any time during the duration of the two month period, if both parties wish to absolve the engagement they may do so by posting on the forum and a GM will confirm the separation.

Divorces work differently. If the two parties wish to go through a divorce both players must play it out either on the forum or chat, from there a GM will review and then confirm the divorce. However if the parents have children together both parents will have joint custody of the children unless one parent gives up their custody rights to the other parent.

Note: Players are not allowed to marry their own characters.

12. Deaths

The death of a character is only acceptable if both players agree to have a Death Match. Although in order for one such match to take place the challenger must post on the forum on who their opponent will be, which arena room that the match will take place including what day and time would best work for both challenger and opponent. Also a GM must be present in one of the arena rooms determined by the challenger. Any character not taking part in a death match will only be allowed to observe, should any player leave during the match they will have 15 minutes to return and resume the match. If that player does not return within the allotted time the match will result in their character's death.

13. Resurrections

The resurrection of a character may only be performed by an GM or a character of a specific vocation may resurrect those who have died in combat. In order for a resurrection to take place, a post must be made by the deceased character under the Deaths and Resurrections section on the forum one hour after death. The player will need to wait 24 hours after posting the resurrection post, though during the 24 hours the player can still play as their character but only as a Ghost until they are resurrected. If the resurrection is performed by a GM another must be present, however if the resurrection is performed by a player two GMs must be present in the chat to witness the resurrection.

Note: All characters may only be resurrected up to a maximum of five times. After the character has been resurrected and should they die after their fifth resurrection the character is classified as permanently deceased. Players who kill off their character(s) due to personal reasons will not be eligible for a resurrection and they will not be allowed to play that character as a Ghost.

14. Character Property

Either a starting or established character cannot own the most lavish or expensive things. However it is encouraged to play accordingly and build up your character, through IC posts on the forum though any player seeking to acquire a home or start a business must apply on the forum. All characters are allowed a maximum of two homes and one business and it has to make sense for that character to own. To acquire a specific home such as a manor the player must post 15 IC posts on the forum. However when it comes to a player run business, if is not role played to be in operation for more than six months it will removed from the game.

Note: This may only be avoided if the player who owns the business has notified the GMs of how long they would be inactive from the game.
